Hours, Tuition & Fees

We are open Monday through Friday and offer both full and half-day classes for children ages 3 to 6.

All children must be fully potty trained to enter the school program.  Pull-ups are not allowed.

The child must be able to use the facilities independently.

Tuition & Fees

Enrollment at Island Montessori Children's School requires a family commitment for the academic year. As we are a school environment and not a day care facility, we do not offer limited enrollment for short periods of time (by month or by week). This allows our classes to remain consistent and grow as a group academically. All enrolled families are expected to maintain their commitment for the entire school year.

Once your application and fee have been received and a spot has been determined for your child, we will send home an enrollment packet and parent handbook for completion and review prior to your child attending school.

Please note that the application fee, materials & supplies fee, and tuition rates do not apply to Kindergarten students, who are part of our Public Charter School. Students wanting to enroll in Kindergarten must submit a charter school application and be selected through the lottery. Our Kindergarten program is full-time (the half-time option is only available to our preschool students).

Tuition Assistance Program

Although all families are expected to contribute toward their tuition, Island Montessori School does offer tuition assistance based on financial need for families that qualify. Learn more.

Application Fee: There is a non-refundable, one-time $100 application fee due with each application.  This fee is used to cover the cost involved in processing an application.

Deposit:  Due to limited space available, a non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to hold a space for the upcoming school year. The deposit must be paid within 14 days of application and will be applied towards the materials.

Montessori materials fee: Once you have been accepted into the program, there is an annual non-refundable Materials and Supplies Fee of $300 per child (2024-25 School Year). This fee is used to cover the high cost of running a Montessori classroom. High quality Montessori materials are essential for a true Montessori experience and we pride ourselves in choosing only the finest consumable products (paint, clay, markers, pencils, paper etc.) in our classrooms. Dr. Montessori believed that if children were able to experience well-made, beautiful materials in their classroom environments, they would learn to appreciate these intrinsic values in the world around them as well.

Tuition Payments: The yearly tuition can be paid in one or ten installments, for your convenience. This schedule is for the academic year commencing in September and ending in June.

The ten monthly installments are due regardless of the actual days in any particular month or days/hours in actual attendance and are due on the first day of each month. Please consider holidays and weekends as you send in your payments.

We accept monthly payments via check, money order, and credit card. All credit card payments must be made in the Children's School office. We cannot accept credit card payments over the phone.  There is a 3% convenience fee for each credit card transaction.

Sibling Discount:  Families with more than one child enrolled at Island Montessori Children's School will receive a 10% discount off the second child.  This discount will apply when a family has two paying preschoolers attending in the same school year.
