Island Montessori School is a non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of parents, friends and members of the wider community to ensure the financial well-being of the School. Fundraising is an integral part of our school's financial planning.
2018/19 "mini" Annual Drive
Last year, our inaugural Annual Drive raised $20,828. Due to Hurricane Florence, we held a "mini" Annual Drive this year. Our goal was to raise $5,000 to equip each of our classrooms with document cameras.
We successfully raised $7,518!

We're about ready to begin developing our Outdoor Classroom in the woods behind the school and could use some start up funding for prep work over the summer. The Outdoor Classroom will be a major focus for the 2019-2020 School Year.

Did you know? Traditional public schools and charter schools receive the same funding to educate students. However, there is an important distinction. Traditional public schools are granted physical space by the County, so they do not have to account for rent and mortgage expenses. That comes out to about $1500 per student (2nd only to personnel) which would have otherwise been spent on education.
